EVgo – Sturbridge
Sturbridge, MAHigh-Power EV Charging Infrastructure Installation in Central Massachusetts
Designed to support the increasing demand for high-speed electric vehicle charging, this project brought new EVgo charging capabilities to the Sturbridge, MA area through the installation of robust electrical and communications infrastructure. TCI partnered with Owl Services to deploy two EVgo DC high-power charging (HPC) dispensers, each capable of delivering up to 350kW, supported by two 350kW DC HPC Power Cabinets to provide reliable power distribution for fast-charging operations.
To accommodate the significant electrical requirements of the site, TCI installed infrastructure served by a 1,000 kVA utility transformer and a 480V/1200A main electrical service. The electrical scope also included the installation of 3-inch conduit systems and a 4-inch primary duct bank to support power distribution, equipment connections, and long-term system reliability.
In addition to the electrical infrastructure, TCI installed Cat 6 communications cabling to connect the charging systems to the Internet Service Provider (ISP). This connectivity enables remote monitoring, network integration, system management, and operational reporting for the charging equipment.
The completed installation provides reliable, high-capacity charging infrastructure that enhances EV accessibility while supporting the continued growth of electric vehicle adoption throughout the region.
